Interested in a wine that tastes great, pairs well with almost all food, can be appreciated by novice and experienced wine consumers, and doesn't deteriorate your bank account? Sounds impossible right? One of the best kept secrets in the wine world today are wines from South America. Alfredo Roca Pinot Noir 2006 from Mendoza, Argentina is worth every penny. Just when I was convinced that no red wine is worthy of consumption under $10, I discovered this anomaly. Averaging anywhere from $8-$11, this wine has a $30-$40 value. This free-spirited wine goes well in any environment. It can pair with any flavorful fish like salmon, many italian dishes, pork, and plenty of red meats. This wine creates a fun environment with no intimidation. Hints of black cherry and not too much acidity create a smooth and relaxing finish.
